QC/ Analytical Chemist is needed in East Cheshire with at least 2 years' experience working in industry, with specific experience with GC-FID/ MS and other wet chemistry techniques. QC Chemist Cheshire East 30,000 to 40,000 (dependent on experience) Permanent SRG are working with a major European Waste Management and Recycling company, providing waste solutions to industrial companies and high-quality, recycled raw materials for re-use in various industries. Due to growth and expansion of the business, they are now looking to add a QC Chemist to their technical team in Cheshire East. You will be quality testing incoming materials, as well as outgoing products. You will need to be a qualified and experienced QC/ Analytical chemist with specific experience using methods such as GC-FID/ MS and other wet chemistry techniques. Role/Description Strict following of company safety protocols, work policies and practices, including relevant risk assessments, compliance with PPE policy, accident and near miss reporting, and housekeeping standards. Performing laboratory analysis on crude, in-process and outgoing materials - including sample labelling, logging samples, sample analysis, result reporting, and subsequent acceptance and release of sampled material. Laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration. Stock-taking, assisting in ordering of laboratory supplies, and stock replenishment. Maintaining high levels of housekeeping, ensuring an organised and safe working environment. Product dispatch note certifications - confirming quality approval in accordance with product specification.

Requirements Degree in Chemistry (or similar) At least 2 years working as an Analytical/ QC Chemist Other qualification (e.g. NVQ) require 5+ years relevant experience Working in an ISO or GMP/Certified laboratory is an advantage Working to tight deadlines GC-FID/MS experience is required (solvent purity analysis) Experience in wet chemistry techniques (KF, pH, titration) GC method development experience is a significant advantage Critical thinking and independent work ethic is essential Experience of trouble shooting and root cause analysis an advantage SRG is the UK's number one recruitment company specialising in the scientific, engineering, clinical, pharmaceutical, food/FMCG, energy & renewables, biotech, chemical and medical device sectors.
