Hello, My client based in Stonehouse is looking for a QC Engineer to join their busy team due to expansion.

The QC Engineer is responsible for verifying that all materials, components, and package assemblies comply with project specifications. For this role, candidates will need to have a HNC/D or City and Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or demonstrable industry experience. A Quality-related qualification would be advantageous. You will have experience of working in a Quality Inspection role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment, including experience of Metrology/Calibration/FARO Arm CMM. Candidates will need to have a knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and the ability to evaluate and problem solve. An understanding and experience in interpreting engineering drawings, certification, Client specifications and standards requirements (API, ISO, PED, etc) is essential.

This role would ideally suit somebody who values the importance of attention to detail and has the ability to work using their own initiative whilst also being part of a team. You will need the ability to quickly establish effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

The main responsibilities of the role are: Reviewing production documentation such as drawings/datasheets and inspecting the quality of production equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications. Overseeing the non-conformance and change management process across the entire production cycle from machine shop through to package assembly and testing. Reviewing project design documentation and monitoring the build processes to ensure we meet project requirements. Inspecting components, assemblies, and complete packages downstream of machine shop throughout the manufacturing process using contract specific Inspection and Test Plans (I&TP). Supporting instrumentation and equipment calibration activities. Completing inspections, assessments and providing documented reports, clearly identifying non-conformance to specifications and drawings. Supporting machine shop inspections using Faro 3D CMM measuring equipment (in addition to basic mechanical measurement activities). Supporting painted component inspections including but not limited to paint adhesion, thickness, and quality checks. Completion of assessments of welded components to assess quality of weld using visual and basic measuring equipment. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with a desire to set high standards of work performance for themselves and for others. You will need excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workload with competing priorities and frequent interruptions.
