Fulbridge Social Care are recruiting for 5 Qualified Residential Childrens Support Workers to join our dedicated team.You will be working within specialist units that support young people aged between 10 and 17 with challenging behaviour and complex needs such as autism, eating disorders, sexualised behaviour, self-harm, aggressive personality and addiction, you must understand the complexities of challenging behaviour and have qualifications and experience working or interacting with young people and complex needs.Candidates must be confident, self-aware, interactive and knowledgeable of the reasons why young people are in care and understand the challenges faced on a regular basis when working within a children’s residential setting.We are looking for ambitious individuals who have aspirations to succeed within this role and make a positive impact on a young person’s life both short-term and long-term.A driving license is required for this position as you will be required to drive the on-site vehicle to take the service users to social activities and family contacts. An enhanced DBS must be obtained which is paid by the candidate unless you are registered on the government’s on-line status checks.Applicants will be required to either hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).Candidates must be an age of 21 minimum to work within this unit because of the age of the young people within our clients home due to the nature of the role and the sector so therefore these positions are exempt from the employment equality (age) regulation set out in 2006.Main duties and responsibilities:Build strong professional relationships with the service users and other members of staffMaintain a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for the YPs to live and for you to workTo keep up to date with all communication / information systemsAttend and take an active part in meetings as appropriateSupport YP in managing their own behaviour using approved skillsTo promote equality, acknowledging individuals differencesProtect service users from any form of abuse from staff, visitors or service usersWrite accurate reports for reviews and keep written records for monitoring purposesAttend all training as required and be prepaid to achieve qualifications appropriate to roleAttend work reliably and punctually and to follow a set shift patternTransfer Young People using company carEnsure you keep yourself up to date with all procedures and policy changesTake responsible care for the health and safety of yourself and othersUndertake any other additional duties as required, which are relevant to the postPerson Specification:Ability to form professional relationships with young peopleAbility to read and understand written work and to write clear and accurate reportsAbility to communicate clearly and easily with young people in a variety of waysAbility to go wherever service users want to go and participate in all activitiesAbility to work as directed and complete tasks reliably and to a high standardAbility to participate in training and developmentAbility to follow a work pattern and to attend work punctually and reliablyAwareness of what effective teamwork isAwareness of the general health, safety and welfare of young peopleAwareness of how young people develop and learnAwareness of equal opportunities and discrimination are and how it can be preventedWe are happy to answer any questions you may have.
