Our client is a non-profit organisation working with people to support their health and wellbeing. Established for over 30 years, they have provided services alongside a variety of statutory and voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) colleagues in Surrey and its borders. They are currently looking for a part time Qualified Counselling Co-ordinator to work within the Counselling team.

Salary:

£29,680 - Pro Rata

Hours:

21 hours per week (to include some hours across a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, flexible how this looks over the week)

Contract:

FTC initially until 31st August 2025

You will be supporting the Clinical Service Manager with an oversight of the functions and operations, helping to ensure they offer a robust and professional counselling service.

Working in a small team, you will manage the referrals and undertake telephone, virtual and some face-to-face client triages and assessments to ascertain suitability for counselling. Once complete, you will manage the necessary paperwork and processes to assign to the appropriate counsellor or signpost to other services that could be of benefit.

It is key that you work closely with and support the volunteer counsellors, helping them to deliver the service and also dealing with enquiries in regards to placements, interviewing, onboarding, and training alongside the Service Manager.

This is a very varied role that gives you great exposure and involvement in the counselling team.

Our ideal applicant will have/be: Qualified Counsellor (minimum level 4 diploma in counselling) Experience of working with clients presenting with drug/alcohol and mental health concerns Experience of conducting triage and assessments for counselling Knowledge of different counselling skills and evidence-based approaches to supporting people with drug, alcohol issues, mental health and associated complexity Proactive, motivated, energetic, kindness and integrity are some of the key attributes Ability to work calmly in a challenging environment
