As an EMHP you will be delivering CBT Evidence-Based Interventions for children and young people, with mild to moderate mental health and behavioral problems, in a range of Education Settings.
You will be helping children and young people within these settings who present with more severe problems to rapidly access more specialist services. Another key part of your role is to support the staff in your allocated Education Settings to identify, and where appropriate, manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing supporting them to develop whole school approaches to positive mental health.
Working with and within educational environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services. You'll be able to identify and work with low level risk and recognise higher level risk, escalating this appropriately to relevant services.

Provide individual and group interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Important information - please read before applying Applicants must have successfully completed the 1 year Post Graduate Certificate 'Education Mental Health Practitioner(EMHP)' course in order to be considered for shortlisting. We welcome applications from qualified EMHP's and Trainee EMHPs who are due to finish or have recently finished their training. You must have registration as an EMHP or have an in-progress application for registration as an EMHP with BABCP or BPS. This will be verified at interview and during pre-employment checks. It is a mandatory requirement as you are working within an NHS commissioned service. We are unable to accept applications from children and young people wellbeing practitioners (CWP). The only exception to this is if you are currently working in an MHST service, and you started in this service prior to 1st October 2024.
