Important information - please read before applying Applicants must have successfully completed the 1 year Post Graduate Certificate 'Education Mental Health Practitioner(EMHP)' course in order to be considered for shortlisting. We welcome applications from qualified EMHP's and Trainee EMHPs who are due to finish or have recently finished their training. You must have registration as an EMHP or have an in-progress application for registration as an EMHP with BABCP or BPS. This will be verified at interview and during pre-employment checks. It is a mandatory requirement as you are working within an NHS commissioned service. We are unable to accept applications from children and young people wellbeing practitioners (CWP). The only exception to this is if you are currently working in an MHST service, and you started in this service prior to 1st October 2024. You are only able to gain professional registration for roles that they are qualified to deliver. Person Specification

Experience of managing a caseload of children and young people with a range of mild and moderate mental health needs. Working within a community mental health setting. Experience of delivering evidence-based psychological interventions. Experience of delivering group-based interventions. Experience of providing psychological interventions in Educational Settings. Experience of working with children and families in a hospital or community setting. Experience of working within mental health service. Knowledge

Understanding of CYP-IAPT Principles including the use of Routine Outcome Measures. An understanding of Safeguarding responsibilities and the importance of multi-agency working for children and families in the community. An understanding of Child Development. Ability to assess, plan and implement care programmes for young people with complex emotional and/or behavioural difficulties. Ability to observe, listen and communicate effectively, verbally and non-verbally with young people and their families. Insight into clients' perceptions and ability to empathise. Ability to recognise own limits and seek appropriate support. Can demonstrate skills in assessing and managing people/children and young people experiencing emotional and or mental health problems.
