Varied role working in a range of environments and industries Due to a busy workload for 2025 and beyond, Bleeker & Weith (#menofsteel, #boysofalloy - general and precision engineers) are looking for a skilled tradesperson to become part of their team based in Timaru, South Canterbury. We are on the hunt for a trade qualified Engineer with significant experience in both workshop and site engineering. Experience in maintenance and fabrication for production environments is highly desirable. If you would like to be part of a team where no two days are the same, come join them! They work across a variety of industries including food and beverage, marine, agriculture, transport, building, and everything in between. Bleeker & Weith pride themselves on getting the job done to a very high standard and work with a variety of materials including alloy, carbon, stainless steel, and plastics to achieve this. Generally, they work 45 hours a week Monday to Friday, with the odd bit of weekend work. A minimum of 40 hours a week is available now, with overtime rates paid. Some flexibility is required to meet maintenance and project deadlines, but this will always be discussed in advance. Key duties and responsibilities include: Workshop-based tasks such as fabrication and repairs Site-based work including maintenance, repairs, and commissioning of new equipment Liaising with customers to understand their requirements and communicate with them on progress Designing engineering solutions to customer problems and presenting suitable options Working collaboratively with other team members to achieve the best outcomes for their clients Key skills & attributes we are looking for include: Proven work history as a fabrication Engineer on a variety of projects Ability to read plans Honest, reliable, and punctual (plus a good sense of humour - this is not negotiable!) Full class 1 driver's license Able to follow instructions, work well as part of a team, and take ownership of your work Have NZ residence/citizenship or work visa Able to pass pre-employment health and drug screening Clear written and verbal communication in English Strong literacy and numeracy skills Benefits offered: Competitive hourly & penal rates/allowances Medical insurance after 3 months Assistance with relocation within NZ on offer if required If this is your 2025 career move, please send us your application with a copy of your CV and cover letter, telling us why you want to join the team at Bleeker & Weith and what skills/experience you will be bringing to the table.
