Mostly Working From Home

Are you an experienced social worker with a passion for court-related work? Do you have a track record of managing cases within court proceedings, from initial hearings to final resolutions, including adoption when necessary? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

About Sutton:

Sutton Council's dedicated court team is seeking a Qualified Court Social Worker to join our Court Service. We specialize in managing cases within care proceedings, ensuring the welfare of children is safeguarded at all stages of the legal process. As a Court Social Worker, you will play a vital role in our team. You'll manage cases exclusively within care proceedings, and a few supervision orders, including those destined for adoption. We have a protected caseload, recognizing the demanding nature of court work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Take charge of cases within court proceedings, overseeing them from the initial hearing through to their resolution, including potential adoption.
  • Report Writing: Produce high-quality reports and documents essential for court proceedings.
  • Court Presence: Be confident and prepared to give evidence in court, representing the best interests of children.
  • Experience: Utilize your experience in managing looked after children and those with child protection plans.
  • Viability Assessment: Undertake viability assessments to inform court decisions.
  • Parenting Assessment: Conduct parenting assessments, contributing to the court's understanding of family dynamics.
  • Home-Based Role: While this role is primarily home-based, you'll need to visit children, attend the office for duty (approximately once every two weeks), and engage in face-to-face meetings as required.

What We Offer:

  • Flexible Working: Enjoy the flexibility of a home-based role with occasional office and fieldwork.
  • Support and Development: Receive excellent management support and opportunities for skill development, including viability assessments and parenting assessments.
  • Protected Caseload: Benefit from a caseload designed to account for the demands of court work.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification and active registration with the appropriate regulatory body. (SWE/HCPC)
  • Demonstrated experience working within a Court Team or a similar setting, managing complex cases and delivering high-quality services.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection, safeguarding, and looked after children.

To apply for this role, please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you're the ideal candidate for this position. For more info on this or any other opportunities in London, please contact Callum Parr at Ackerman Pierce recruitment agency on .
