Job Description Qualified Social Worker, Stoke on Trent City Council, Childrens Assessment & Safeguarding Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.

The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.

Responsibilities:

To ensure that the welfare of the child or young person is paramount at all times.

To carry out assessments and care manage child care plans within government and departmental prescribed timescales and standards, as required by the Practice / or Principal Manager.

To ensure that children, young people and their families are fully involved in the process of assessment and care management.

To ensure that service user records are maintained in accordance with Departmental procedures, and that information required for management purposes is recorded and inputted appropriately.

To ensure that the department’s and authority’s resources are deployed efficiently and effectively at all times.

To be responsible for the allocation of appropriate tasks to Social Work Assistants, and to provide the necessary support and guidance for the completion of those tasks.

Child Protection work.

Care Management.

Manage a case load.

Home Visits.

Court Work.

Liaise with other professionals.

37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation).

3 month Temporary Contract.

Start date subject to CRB and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current CRB and be a car driver.

If you are not an HCPC registered Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Post Qualifying Social Work experience, you are not eligible for this role, so please do not apply!
