A 4 month fixed term contract as Paternity cover within the Learn Product POD with a December start. The role will consist of carrying out system testing and quality assurance activities to ensure that the quality, reliability, integrity and performance of the Learn Product applications and services meet the needs of our users and stakeholders.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and implement functional and non-functional test plans for Learn applications.
- Design and document test cases for the Learn applications from user stories and acceptance criteria. Ensure inclusion of testing for both positive and negative scenarios.
- Execute test cases and record the results within cross-browser, multi-device test environments.
- Ensure that the applications function according to user requirements and behave in line with IT governance guidelines.
- Identify and document any issues found in the application. Work closely with the development and BA teams to investigate and resolve application problems and process issues where required.
- Perform peer reviews of test cases created by other testers.
- Review user story acceptance criteria to identify correctness / completeness and suitability for inclusion in the development process. Where relevant, work with the BA to improve the user stories to an acceptable state. Provide time estimates for test tasks so that work phases can be fully planned and a schedule agreed.
- Execute and manage all appropriate testing types (e.g. Acceptance, Functional, Regression, Non-Functional and Integration).
- Help to compile data used for building appropriate and robust test environments.
- Help to maintain test strategy documentation for Learn projects within product pod.
- Proactively recommend innovative automation ideas to reduce the manual effort and increase the code coverage at all levels of the testing pyramid
- Where appropriate, participate in the writing and running of automated test cases across all applications under test.
- Proactively seek to evolve testing and quality assurance through continuous process improvements.
- Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group's changing priorities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being can be maintained.

What are we looking for?
Essential for the role :
- Demonstrabletest experience in a Test Analyst role.
- Knowledge of cross browser web-based testing
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and software testing lifecycle within an agile framework
- Experience working with Agile / Scrum development methodologies.
- ISEB or ISTQB certified - Foundation level.
- Experience in functional and non-functional testing of web based applications.
- Experience with agile defect / sprint management tools like Jira, Zephyr, and Confluence
- Self-motivated with a willingness to work independently and within a practice and sprint team structure
- Concise verbal and written communication skills
- Keen interest in Football
Beneficial to have:
- Experience of testing on mobile platforms
- Experience with databases (Microsoft SQL Server preferred)
- Knowledge and experience in functional and non-functional testing
- Experience with automation tools such as Postman and Selenium
- Responsibility for writing and running automated tests
- Experience of deploying builds to dev and test environments
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies
- Knowledge of grass roots Football
