Quality Assurance Tester – INSIDE IR35 £400 P/D - Newcastle/Hybrid
We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join one of our consultancy clients, you will work closely with the internal teams on a large public sector programme.
You’ll be responsible for building and executing test scripts, analysing functional requirements, and ensuring our systems meet the highest standards of quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, develop, and execute automated functional tests using Java and JUnit.
Apply BDD practices with Cucumber to ensure efficient and effective test automation.
Analyze functional requirements, design documents, and business requirements to create comprehensive test cases.
Prepare and execute functional test scripts using testing tools, documenting and reporting the results clearly.
Generate and review detailed functional test reports, providing critical metrics and insights.
Identify test scenarios and conditions, raising defects, and offering recommendations for improvement.
Maintain clear, accessible, and understandable test results for all team members and stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Strong experience in Java and JUnit.
Expertise in Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber.
Familiarity with WireMock for service virtualization.
Experience with Docker for containerized testing environments.
Proven experience in test automation, with the ability to write and execute test scripts and manage the testing lifecycle.
Strong understanding of functional testing, including the analysis of functional design documents and business requirements.
