Main duties and responsibilities will include: Providing expert advice and guidance and delivering quality assurance and improvement activities to screening providers. Providing senior management level support to and deputising in the absence of the QA Managers and Deputy Managers across the full range of QA activities. Job responsibilities
Contributing to the development of local AAA and DES screening services while building and managing relationships with providers and commissioners of local screening programmes. Supporting senior QA staff in developing policies, methods, and tools for quality assurance. Providing support to local AAA and DES screening services through regular communications and meetings. Working with senior staff to address screening incident identification, management, and resolution for AAA and DES screening services. Ensuring that visits/reviews of local AAA and DES screening services are conducted effectively, on time and by appropriate and trained reviewers. Interpreting data and information to monitor performance and highlight issues of concern. The post holder will be able to make decisions or recommendations to senior staff when required. They will be capable of working to tight and often changing timescales and knowing when and how to seek advice from senior QA staff members. The post holder will have the ability to handle difficult and controversial issues with tact and diplomacy. The post holder will have report-writing and analytical skills they can use to support local screening services. They will have an understanding of the principles of population-based screening programmes in the UK with experience of quality management and audit. This role will involve working with colleagues across the directorate and in other directorates, leading or supporting agreed workstreams as appropriate. There will be a consistently close working relationship between members of the Quality Assurance team and portfolio teams to provide subject matter expertise and support the delivery of the sub-directorate objectives.
