SRG are recruiting for a QC Manager to take on a varied & fast paced quality department based with a pharmaceutical manufacturer in Yorkshire.

Well established, the business is a critical provider of medicines and products needed to ensure the well-being and improved outcomes of patients with additional requirements.

As the QC Manager you will be overseeing the quality department as it undergoes systems updates and drive to ever greater compliance and continuous improvement while supporting a growing NPD division.



The Role:


As the QC Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Control department and leading laboratory operations to ensure the timely & accurate testing of Raw materials and finished products, as well as supporting other departments such as NPD through stability & Microbiological testing.

You will have 4 direct supervisors, leading departments with a total of over 50 heads within QC.


Key responsibilities will include:


  • Overseeing QC / stability testing of finished products, raw materials and packaging materials etc. to meet the needs of the business, whilst ensuring all methods, procedure and specifications are fit for purpose and comply with all necessary GMP / regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining and continuously developing standards within the laboratories and Quality Management System.
  • Develop and maintain the laboratory systems to ensure efficient, safe and compliant operation, perform document reviews and approvals.
  • Leads and guide others in quality driven initiatives in the continuous support of Quality Improvement.
  • Play an active part in audits ensuring that high standards are maintained.
  • Lead the development of Long-term capabilities for the Quality Control department.
  • Management of QC Function team staff, ensuring training & development of staff and maintaining headcount in line with budget.



The Person:


  • A Degree or similar qualification in a relevant science discipline.
  • Proven experience in a QC leadership role within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Excellent knowledge relating to MHRA requirements, audits and the international pharmaceutical industry requirements.
  • Experience of Change management & transformation.
  • Ability to lead, coach, influence and build strong collaborative relationships.
