Quality Control Technician!

This role will be based out of our plant facility located in Scarborough, ON. Job Summary The QC Technician will work closely with the Quality department Manager and focus on the execution of an established quality control program crafted to ensure the continuous production of products with established company standards. Emphasis will be placed on the checking and testing of products throughout the production process, recording the results and compiling reports to detail the results. This is a full-time position with a 12-hour continental bi-weekly rotating shift schedule (Day shift: 8am - 8pm, Night shift: 8pm - 8am). Address:

$26 - 30/hour Principle Accountabilities Perform tests on manufactured products to identify the degree of compliance with company and third party standards. Record all testing results and communicate results to affected parties. Conduct production inspections and maintain records of production inspections. Provide product specifications to production for each start-up. Verify each new start up to ensure parameters and conditions meet the requirements of the product specifications. Maintain work area in compliance with daily housekeeping and organization expectations of the company. Participate and support HSE Management Systems (HSEMS) initiatives, 5S program and Energy Conservation Initiative. Perform a variety of other tasks. Minimum Requirements Completion of a High School Diploma or practical equivalency. Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or factory environment. Experience in plastics and/or pipe industry is a strong asset. Knowledge and understanding of quality control procedures, measuring skills and concepts in handling nonconforming product. Experience in conducting dimensional and mechanical testing. Ability to read, understand and interpret industrial standards, product specifications, testing procedures and acceptance criteria. Ability to analyze information from different sources, make decisions, identify problems and build/implement action plans to address problems. Ability to work well independently with keen attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication. Benefits Fully subsidized comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision coverage plan. Working Conditions Incumbent spends almost 100% of their time in a plant environment requiring varying degrees of moderate physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (20-50lbs), standing for long periods and walking cover the majority of the work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Considerable amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow bring considerable stresses to this position.
