Quality Controller Salary: £Competitive Location: Westhoughton Permanent, Full Time Shifts are 12 hours and require an equal number of Days & Nights. Shift start times are 6am/6pm respectively. Average weekly hours = 36 Closing Date: 11th February 2025 The Vacancy As the Quality Controller Ensure Critical to Quality inspection and testing is carried out in line with Product & Customer specifications

Accurately record and report test and inspection results data

High interaction with production operations to maintain quality conformance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To always act and behave in a way compliant with all De La Rue company guidelines and policies, especially those relating to Environmental Health and Safety, ethics and codes of conduct. Perform all the required tests / re-tests on all supplied samples in line with each product group and ensure that the production / planning areas are kept fully informed of any issues so that any remedial action can be taken.

To ensure that any out of specification material is re-sampled & retested in line with established procedures.

Ensure that all testing is carried out in line with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and Lab Test Methods (LTM’s)

Create, review and update SOP’s & LTM’s as required

Carry out raw material testing

Ensure that all collected data is accurately recorded and that all records are kept in an audit ready status.

Raise, check and sign off Certificates of Conformance

Create and maintain quality visual standards in line with established procedures.

Proactively manage quarantine issues on shift ensuring that decisions are made and communicated in real time to all areas of the business.

Ensure that all Non-Conforming material is clearly identifiable and quarantine records are accurately populated.

Manage the transfer of Non-Conforming stock items in / out of the stock control system so that available stock is as accurate as possible.

Carry out quality checks in line with product group requirements on retained stock material as required to meet customer demand, ensuring that the results of the checks are accurately communicated.

Carry out departmental monthly stock takes

Maintain a visible quality presence on the shop floor

Attend Tiered SQCDP meetings and take / complete any necessary actions in line with the meeting structure.

Support all areas of the business as required with quality related issues including problem solving and Non-Conformance / Complaint investigations.

Support the business requirements for any analysis or data collection needs

Review and carry out /arrange the internal calibration of laboratory equipment in line with the calibration register.

Ensure that an accurate and detailed handover is carried out with both incoming and outgoing shifts to ensure issues arising on shift are accurately and concisely communicated

Perform any given task for which adequate training has been given and demonstrate, without assistance, a reasonable level of competence while working in a team environment or performing an individual task.

Key qualifications, skills and experience required ESSENTIAL Good Numeracy and Literacy skills applied in the workplace

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to prioritise tasks working on own initiative with limited supervision

Computer literacy including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office

Evidence of the ability to demonstrate high attention to detail

Evidence of the ability to interpret complex work instructions

A great degree of flexibility will be required in this role

DESIREABLE Manufacturing / Print Industry background

Experience/knowledge of Quality Standards eg. ISO 9001

Experience of operating testing equipment

Previous experience within a Quality Control function

Please note this is a Shift-based role, shifts are 12 hours and require an equal number of Days & Nights. Shift start times are 6am/6pm respectively. Average 36 weekly hours. The initial training period will not be shift based and will be worked days only. This is usually for 2-3 months and no shift premium will be in place until shift work commences.
