MTrec are currently recruiting for a renowned and respected manufacturing company based in the Durham area . We are looking for a Quality Specialist

to join a team and contribute to maintaining and enhancing our quality standards. This role is vital to ensuring compliance with company policies, health and safety, and quality and hygiene standards while supporting and training colleagues across the business. Role Purpose: To actively participate within the Quality department, providing ongoing support, guidance, and training to ensure high-quality production and compliance with company standards. Key Responsibilities: Daily reporting and coordination of non-conforming products. Investigating, analysing, and taking action on customer claims. Updating paperwork and systems with new product information. Performing quality checks and ensuring accurate data entry into IQMS. Quarantining products manufactured out of specification. Monitoring compliance with company policies. Developing and assisting in quality control projects. Ensuring full compliance with BRC requirements. Conducting ‘line walks’ to verify production quality standards. Calibrating measuring equipment and managing knife/sharps processes. Representing the business on customer visits for quality-related issues. Promoting best practices in Health & Safety and Environmental matters. Communicating effectively with shift managers, leads, and other personnel. What We’re Looking For: Essential Qualifications: GCSE Level 2 (Grades A*-C). Experience & Knowledge: 2+ years of experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment. Knowledge of global quality standards (ISO, BRC). Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems. Product knowledge and understanding of critical quality parameters. Desirable Skills & Knowledge: Understanding of HACCP, product safety, and integrity. Familiarity with CI tools (Lean, Six Sigma, FMEA, 8D). Experience with Quality Management Systems and plastic packaging processes. Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Teamwork and collaboration with a proactive, positive attitude. Diligent, dependable, and adaptable to change. Excellent attention to detail and customer focus
