Carmichael UK are seeking a Quality Inspector/Engineer for an immediate start for a precast year in Antrim, Ireland.

You will be completing quality inspections on precast concrete that will be going to Hinkley Point C.

Previous QA/QC experience is needed, and you must be happy to be posted in Ireland (not at HPC).

Responsibilities:

Quality Engineer / Inspector must have previous working experience with a minimum of 10 years dealing with concrete structures and precast elements production activities involved in the large construction industry background.

Quality resource shall have a civil engineering background and good understanding of reinforcement checks, cast-in items, embedments verification, concrete prepour and post-pour verifications.

Quality resource must have good quality control experience and inspection skills; understanding of ISO 9001 requirements is essential. (Internal auditor training/certified is optional)

Quality resource must have a full understanding of inspection and testing requirements that need to be carried out while witnessing the concrete activities. Essential to have experience dealing with the supply chain previously.

Quality resource must understand the NCR process and have dealt with handling material NCRs for offsite activities and resolving them as per approved procedures.

Quality resource shall be able to work remotely, complete inspection reports, and carry out documentation reviews.

Quality resource will be reporting to the Quality Manager and his nominated Quality Lead and deliver the duties and tasks assigned during the contract.

Aware of the handover documentation requirements and records that need to be produced for each activity (Lifetime Quality Records (LTQR), End of Manufacturing Status Report (EOMR), test reports, concrete testing register, pour records, etc.).

Previously worked with construction digital tools and understanding and awareness of platforms such as Dalux and Field View is essential.

Duration Details:

Deployment Location – At Supplier premises Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Work Timings – Resource shall be flexible to attend the work at the supplier premises from shift timings 6 AM to 4 PM. Early start is required as per surveillance and inspection requirements.

Work Week – Monday to Friday (Weekend work might be applicable subject to formal instructions from Construction and Quality Manager).

Duration – From 3rd Week December 2024 up to Mid-March 2025. (Extended duration not possible subject to changes to the programme).

Can be an immediate start.
