QUALITY ENGINEER Leeds To c 39k neg dep exp + benefits Our client is part of a group that has been established for almost two hundred years and employs more than 5,500 staff globally, specialising in a range of bespoke heavier engineering and materials handling activities for a diverse range of applications. Due to continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to be based out of their prestigious Leeds Office environment and complement their successful quality control team. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the successful Quality Engineer candidate will undertake a range of duties and responsibilities that will include (but not be limited to): Expediting and reviewing sub-contractor/supplier quality procedures Reviewing MQP's (Manufacturing Quality Plan) Expedition and inspection of manufactured and supplied items. Compilation of internal CCM MQP for machining, assembly, fabrication and painting etc. to meet Project Quality Requirements and monitoring MQP activities Expedition and review of associated verification documentation e.g. certificates, reports etc. Compilation of formal Manufacturing Lifetime Quality Records, to pre-determined requirements, for customer review and acceptance. Compilation and follow up of NCRs. Arranging third party Inspections as stated in MQP's as required. Assisting in other areas of the QA/QC department as required. Responsible for the control of all expediting, internal and external inspections and tasked with supporting functional management and liaising with Suppliers and Clients as required, as a Quality Engineer you will ensure documentation packages are compiled in a timely manner and may on occasion travel to inter-company departments, suppliers and customer sites within the UK as required. To be considered for this exceptional Quality Engineer opportunity within a genuine market leading organisation, it is envisaged the successful candidate will hold nationally recognised Quality Control Certification and previous experience in a QA/QC environment, and essentially hold a full UK driving licence. You will demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of MQP and LTQR requirements based on customer PQRs and manufacturing standards, and of associated required certification i.e. Material, NDT, Painting and Welding certification. You will also possess a working knowledge of relevant British Standards and be able to read Engineering Drawings, ideally gained within a medium/heavy engineering environment.
