The Quality Engineer will develop and execute quality control and improvements for the entire factory that deliver “right first time” outcomes and efficient and effective quality control and inspection. This role will be both office (20%) based and production area based (80%). The production quality engineer should also be comfortable liaising with customers, staff, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer:

Lead and manage all aspects of production quality and systems. Responsible for the creation, maintenance, and improvements of automatic optical inspection and x-ray programs. Proactively address and resolve the quality-related issues on a day-to-day basis, ensuring swift and effective resolution. Serve as a technical point of contact for correspondence with end customers and suppliers, ensuring clear and professional communication both in person and digitally. Investigate and resolve customer queries and complaints, utilizing root cause analysis and other methodologies to prevent recurrence. Conduct regular audits of production processes against best practices for electronics manufacture. Facilitate Kaizen events and improvement workshops to drive process efficiencies and elevate quality standards. Develop and deliver training programs focused on quality management and continuous improvement to enhance team capabilities and foster a culture of excellence. Champion the organisation's commitment to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimisation and implementing best practices across all quality-related activities.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a quality or production role. Ideally from an Engineering / Manufacturing background. Desirable - Knowledge of automatic inspection equipment. Excellent written and spoken English. You will be required to complete written reports to explain or detail complex observations. Comfortable using Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel. Full Clean UK Driving Licence with the ability to travel to other sites if required. A personable attitude with a hands-on approach to their role, responsibilities, and the wider company activities.
