Job Title: Quality Engineer Reports to: Quality Manager Contract Type Permanent Working Hours: Standard Days Department: Quality Location: Global Point (Travel to customers, sister sites, training and suppliers will be required) Main Purpose of Role: The core purpose of the Quality Engineer is to have responsibility for process excellence, continuous improvement whilst ensuring effective delivery of 100% customer satisfaction through the achievement of all quality assurance targets. KeyResponsibilitiesand Accountabilities: Lead Quality deliverables such as First Article Inspection, PFMEA, control and inspection plan etc. Lead the incorporation of new, modern inspection methodologies and data driven process control tools, including preparation of product inspections plans. Support the introduction of new parts and processes into the business. Enhance the performance of RLC by leading and assisting with the development of manufacturing solutions that deliver products right first time Identify best industry practice and world class manufacturing standards, developing ideas on how to implement within RLC to ensure highest possible quality standards and thereby improve cell quality performance Contribute to the management and reduction of risk within manufacturing utilising appropriate tools including asset care to provide predictive risk reduction mechanisms and deliver robust data driven process control techniques Provide technical liaison and data driven guidance on product and process quality performance with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and supplier partners Ensure all activities meet the requirements of the customer and RLC quality management systems. Lead or participate in quality system and/or process audits as needed Comply with all RLC HSE requirements Any additional tasks or duties deemed necessary to meet the responsibilities of the role. Qualifications Essential HNC Level 3 or above in Engineering or other relevant discipline. Desirable Engineering Degree Experience Essential 5 years experiencewithin manufacturing/engineering or a similarly regulated environment. Experience of working to Quality Standards. Desirable 6 Sigma Experience Experience of aerospace manufacturing requirements. Competencies Good analytical & numeracy skills supported by strong Microsoft Office expertise. Good communication skills to develop professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through building trust and mutual understanding. Responsibility for quality processes and procedures, including design, review and making any necessary adjustments. Ability to work effectively within a team, reacting to changes and disruptions in manufacturing to meet quality standards and customer requirements. Endeavour to continuously improve systems and procedures to maximise utilisation. Support the enhancing performance of the organisation by providing manufacturing solutions that deliver products right first time. Pay & Benefits Salary circa 38k-44k (based on experience) 25 days holidays and 8 statutory holidays accrued during first years service which can be taken in hours. Defined contributions pension scheme, starting at 3% employee and 7% company contribution. Life Assurance Policy, paid at 4 times basic salary from day 1.
