As a Quality Engineer, this important role is responsible for the quality planning of customer requirements that includes performing internal and external quality audits. You will use your experience in quality improvement and techniques to support the team's work quality control. On a typical day as a Quality Engineer, you will: Work to support aerospace customer quality requirements through review of engineering technical requirements for flow down of customer specifications. Develop and implement internal documents for the quality planning of customer requirements. Resolve issues relative to product and process quality through root cause analysis. Work with team to assist with the development of PFMEA's, Control Plans and PPAP's. Lead the development of action plans to improve performance in achieving goals. Identify opportunities to proactively improve customer satisfaction. Train and support team on new quality initiatives. Undertake both internal and external quality audits. What we are looking for from you as a Quality Engineer: A four year degree in mechanical or materials engineering or a related field. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred. Knowledge of ISO 9001 required but AS9100 and AS13100 is preferred. Quality engineering and/or manufacturing experience preferred. Knowledge of quality improvement tools and techniques, quality auditing, root cause analysis and error proofing. Six sigma Green Belt and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and good computer literacy - strong Excel skills. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities. Very good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with all levels of the company and external clients; written or verbally. Must be able to travel occasionally to meet with customers and suppliers.
