Due to growth of their order book within their UK hub in Tonbridge, Kent, they are currently looking for a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer (QE) evaluates the quality assurance of processes and products and recommends revisions of indicated specifications. Their duties include testing products, systems and procedures to ensure that they meet technical standards, creating documentation on quality and safety and liaising between the engineering, production teams and the customers to uncover quality-related issues. Will report and update KPI's as requested. He/She will promote a quality culture throughout the organization and will lead by example. The quality engineer will be familiar with the core quality tools, some of which are listed below: Control plan creation Statistical process control (SPC) FMEA MSA PPAP APQP 8D problem solving Quality Engineer Responsibilities: Developing and implementing quality standards. Developing and implementing quality control systems. Monitoring and analysing quality performance, including warranty claims. Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met. Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements. Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations. Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues. Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements. The quality engineer will liaise with production, sales, purchasing, engineering, and will help engineer quality processes, writing work instructions/control plans. Will analyse defects and identify trends and improvement actions. Chair quality improvement meetings ensuring improvement actions are documented using PDCA. He/She will be familiar with ISO 9001/IATF 16949, will be qualified as a lead auditor, and have working knowledge of lean principles, six sigma green belt certified. The Quality Engineer will create internal/external audit plans, conduct audits, and arrange visits to suppliers to conduct the audits. The QE will help suppliers improve their quality performance using PDCA.
