A market leading automotive consultancy is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their team in Leamington Spa. Key skills required for this role: Quality Engineering We are looking for a pro-active individual to join our current Quality team in this hands-on role, working internally as well as with our customers, making tangible improvements to the quality performance of the business. You will be an experienced Quality Engineer supporting a number of value streams within the business. Examples of value streams are low volume assembly (including Motorsport) and internal manufacturing. Experienced in batch precision machining and a dynamic problem solver are essential skills for delivering success in this role. This key quality role will provide a focus on supporting customers, internal quality, and pro-active right first-time methodology. All QEs are involved with supporting internal assembly & manufacturing operations, focusing on internal improvement activities along with efficiently delivering day-to-day activities. The objective is to drive customer satisfaction by improvements to our Total Cost of Quality (TCoQ), On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery, and other KPIs. You will be working closely with customers, other quality assurance team members, as well as manufacturing team leaders, product leaders, & manufacturing engineers. Minimum Requirements: Experience in either low volume mechanical assembly and/or operating in a precision machining batch environment. Strong people and motivational skills to drive improvements in all areas of responsibility. Expert problem solver with extensive experience of implementing effective long-term improvement. Excellent communicator at both the shop floor level and presenting data/action plans to senior management. Tenacious individual who can work in a team environment and make a positive difference to KPIs and the Quality Culture. Fully proficient in DMAIC, 8D, 5Y, 7 wastes or other improvement tools. Fully conversant with engineering drawings and GD&T. Desirable knowledge/qualifications: A background of low volume assembly, precision machining of steels & castings would be advantageous. Knowledge of gears and gear geometry would be an advantage. Have working knowledge of 6 sigma, GR&R, SPC, DoE. Understanding of ISO9001, AS9100D, ISO14001 and ISO45001.
