Quality Engineer

Job Description - Quality Engineer (EST0002RQ) About the Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Solutions team supporting our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Operations with their nuclear fleet in the UK. This is a key role within our project and engineering portfolio which is spread across our UK network at all UK sites and stations. You will be supported and mentored by experienced quality engineering management professionals within the business and given the training and opportunities you need to develop and expand your management and leadership skills with larger and more complex projects. Sizewell B began construction in 1988 and since 1995 has generated 250 TWh of zero carbon electricity, which is the equivalent of enough to power every home in Suffolk for 192 years, or like taking 42 million cars off UK roads for a year. You will be part of a large client-led team at EDF's Sizewell B location and will be accountable to the client Project Manager, Programme Manager and/or Construction Manager. Key Responsibilities Provide positive leadership on quality matters within portfolios and project delivery teams and promote the adoption and culture of best practice, that delivers positive commitment to quality and engages all employees in continuous improvement. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the quality management system and make recommendations for improvement to ensure project activities comply with relevant procedures and QA requirements. Accountable to the client PPM or equivalent Group Head, with functional responsibilities to the client Quality Lead. This role has no direct reports. Work within highly regulated environments with high safety standards and culture. Minimum Qualifications HNC in a Technical Discipline or equivalent Recognised BE EN ISO9001 Internal Auditor Training completed Certification as IRCA Auditor/Lead Auditor Demonstrated proficiency in auditing and surveillance of client and contractor activities Aware of the Site Licence requirements on quality assurance and arrangements required to ensure compliance Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Management standards and guidelines including the current versions of BS EN ISO9001 Working knowledge of the current versions of IAEA GC-R-3, BS EN ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001 Demonstrated proficiency in Quality Management practices, methods, and processes, including experience within Projects Quality Our Culture Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion, and diversity.
