Our client, a leading digital, data-driven airline, is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to champion one of their strategic Customer Platform programmes. Key skills required for this role: Test Management Quality Engineering Agile GDPR Test Automation Job Accountabilities: Define and implement the Test Strategy for the Customer Platform programme, ensuring adherence to it. Implement the principles of Quality Engineering and act as an advocate for change and continuous improvement. Lead and manage multiple teams across different project streams, including role justification and hiring. Oversee and manage various testing disciplines to deliver the highest quality solution. Define the test environments and associated test data across in-house and 3rd party resources. Allocate and track progress of prioritised tasks within the team and across 3rd party resources. Provide overall assurance of all completed testing. Communicate clear test status, issues, and risks, escalating as necessary. Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders. Manage suppliers of testing services, applying best practice vendor management to ensure quality and productivity. Actively contribute to the internal Testing Community to drive knowledge sharing and best practices across teams. Key Skills Required: Experience of defining Test Strategies across in-house and 3rd parties. Experience of working in both Waterfall and Agile IT development models, ensuring Quality Engineering is embedded early in the process. Broad experience with multiple technologies and platforms, with a focus on data. Knowledge of various test coverage areas, including unit testing, functional, usability, accessibility, performance, capacity, security, and integration testing. Experience of testing techniques that validate sensitive data and adhere to data policies, such as GDPR/PII. Experience in managing testing and resources across complex E2E solutions, both in house and with 3rd party involvement. Excellent test planning skills in a complex environment. Defect management and the ability to steer development teams. Experience in using Test Automation effectively. Experience in managing and reporting on test progress across a program of releases, including managing issues and risks in both technical and business contexts. Experience in defining test environments and test data optimization. Experience in collating Quality Engineering test governance metrics and driving process improvements based on the data. Strong stakeholder management skills, engaging with senior levels of the organization. Experience in leading and motivating testing teams. Experience in managing offshore test teams. Personal Qualities: Great interpersonal and communication skills. Passionate about Quality Engineering. Generates positive team morale and encourages collaborative working. Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management and planning skills. Analytical and detail-oriented. Confident in interacting with stakeholders at all levels. Able to understand and communicate complex application integration in a simple manner. High degree of integrity and reliability. Passion for delivering exceptional service to customers.
