Company Steel Connexions Limited Job title Employment type Permanent Location Salary Negotiable DOE We are delighted to be recruiting an enthusiastic and motivated Quality & Environmental Assistant to join our clients highly successful Structural Steel fabrication business in Derby.

You will work closely with the SHEQ manager and Quality and Sustainability Coordinator, supporting the implementation and maintenance of the quality and management systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience who is looking to further develop their career in a supportive and friendly working environment. This varied role will combine administrative duties along with hands-on elements.

Quality & Environmental Assistant duties include: • Carry out inspections of fabricated steelwork to ensure quality standards are met and adherence to company procedures are complied with. (welds, painting etc). • Keep/log records of inspections and participate in internal audits adhering to quality and environmental management systems • Provide guidance to company suppliers and/or sub contractors to ensure they comply with required standards. • Participate in the training of new team members to ensure they understand processes and procedures. • Investigate errors that are flagged by the site/construction teams to identify the issue and communicate the information with the aim that the same issues with be avoided in the future.

Quality & Environmental Assistant requirements: • Minimum of 2 years in a Quality Assurance/Inspection role • Experience within the Structural Steel industry is essential • Basic understanding of painting, welding and the ability to understand fabrication drawings • Good understanding and ability to use Microsoft software (Excel, Outlook, Word etc) • Strong interest in quality assurance, environmental management and the Structural Steel fabrication industry • Familiarity with environment systems and regulations would be beneficial but not essential • Live in/within a commutable distance of Derby
