This is an excellent opportunity to join an aerospace manufacturing business based in Blackburn as a Quality Manager.

THE ROLE As Quality Manager, you will lead the quality team in this bespoke precision machine shop business and will have responsibility for: Quality Assurance activity within the production facility Representing the business whilst dealing with customer quality enquiries and warranty issues Working with the customer to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes Working with both customers and suppliers to manage source change and ensure conformity Reviewing and improving processes to drive a 'Right First Time' culture Focusing heavily on problem-solving and root cause analysis using recognised techniques such as 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa Completing regular quality audits and contributing to the AS9100 and NADCAP approvals Proactively building relationships with key customers to maintain and improve quality performance

THE COMPANY This business is long established and has a close-knit team based at their Blackburn site. They have a long track record of supplying well-established customers in the aerospace industry such as Rolls Royce, BAE Systems, and Airbus. THE PERSON You will be an experienced Quality Manager with a background in the aerospace industry and will be comfortable dealing with the specific demands of AS9100 and NADCAP. With the focus being on developing a 'Right First Time' culture, you will be used to working with Technical Drawings and have the ability to produce clear and user-friendly SOPs. A knowledge of GD&T and metrology would be a clear advantage as you will be working to tight tolerances on all components. As you will be the 'face of quality', you will be an excellent communicator and will be comfortable being the first point of contact with the customer. Finally, you will be a positive communicator and will have the ability to engage equally well with the shop floor, senior management, and external customers and suppliers. This is an onsite role, so you would need to be commutable to Blackburn with legal right to work in the UK.
