Regional Quality Manager

required for a Tier 1 contractor based in Berkshire. The company is one of the most successful privately owned profitable contractors in the country, and their Southern operations are based from their office near Reading, with a turnover in excess of GBP1 billion a year.

They target schemes between GBP20 and GBP90 million on frameworks and repeat business opportunities with long-term clients and will also identify and target single-stage regen and development schemes up to GBP150 million. Typical schemes include large schools, multi-phased education schemes, student accommodation, PRS developments, high-rise office and residential schemes, distribution hubs, and large multi-use retail and leisure developments.

The role is to provide quality and systems support to the business at bid, preconstruction, on-site delivery, and commissioning through to defects and warranty periods. You will be responsible for the company's quality plan and be involved in early-stage works to ensure compliance with legal obligations, full compliance with external manufacturers, and working with the supply chain to ensure compliance of their independent quality systems. Responsibilities include: Checking on-site quality with delivery teams and sub-contractors. Auditing and maintaining a register and reporting procedure for NCRs and best practices. Managing, updating, and amending the regional plan to ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards and other industry benchmarks. Investigating latent defects and other compliance issues for continuous improvement.

The role would suit someone from a QA/Inspection background in a construction-related business or a construction professional such as a project or site manager looking to change career paths, with a forensic interest in quality and continuous improvement practices.
