Quality Systems Manager

Telford
site. The role is office-based, however, you will be required to spend time in the factory. What will you be doing as a Quality Systems Manager at Avara? You will help to maintain and champion the company Quality Management System (QMS) to meet Avara Foods, client, and legal requirements. What will your key responsibilities include? Add value to the Avara business through enabling us to demonstrate due diligence in respect of food safety and quality. Act as the site champion for the Quality Management System and customer codes of practice. Mentor the Technical Graduate and Degree Apprentice. Manage, review, and develop the facility's food safety, quality, and regulatory systems. Develop and monitor systems to ensure supplier assurance and HACCP compliance. Ensure risk assessments and non-conformances are documented and reported. Conduct allergen risk assessments and manage allergen validation requirements. Conduct gap analysis on new guidelines and advise site technical functions. Be a key member of the HACCP team, maintaining systems and coordinating reviews. Ensure food safety quality and regulatory system auditing and customer product testing requirements are met. Manage an internal audit schedule based on risk assessment. Provide regular reports regarding the audit schedule and non-conformities. Prepare for and participate in facility audits and visits. Liaise with customers professionally and timely. Understand principles of food fraud and participate in TACCP reviews. Support the implementation of site food safety culture. Provide cover for technical colleagues when necessary. What you'll need to be successful: Technical, legal, food process technology, and food industry knowledge/experience. Experience of BRC accreditation and retailer audits. Qualified HACCP practitioner, HACCP training (Level 3 or above). Good knowledge of customer requirements. Trained auditor. Understanding of document control. Basic understanding of microbiology related to food safety. Knowledge of QA principles, practices & procedures. Ability to deliver training. Good computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Outlook and Excel. Ability to interpret and analyze data. The benefits of working for Avara Foods: From
