We are working with a client based in Plymouth seeking a

Quality Technician

to join a vibrant and thriving Engineering business. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting internal audits, inspecting products for quality conformance, and investigating root causes of quality issues raised by the shop floor teams. This is a position working on the shop floor with daily liaison with the Quality and Production teams. This is an

alternating shift pattern

and being recruited on a

permanent

basis.

Key Responsibilities: Conducting regular internal audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures. Inspecting finished products to verify quality and conformance. Investigating and resolving quality issues, implementing corrective actions. Coaching and mentoring team members to promote a culture of quality. Supporting the implementation of quality improvement initiatives, such as APQP. Ensuring compliance with quality documentation and procedures. Primary point of contact for quality-related enquiries and support the shop floor. Essential Experience / Qualifications and Candidate Attributes Required: HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or technical discipline. 1-2 years of experience in a quality assurance, manufacturing, or inspection role. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning). Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-motivated and proactive approach to work. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be working an alternating shift, Monday to Friday 06:00 to 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

This is a

Permanent

opportunity with a salary range of £30k to £33,500K including shift premium.
