Principal Purpose Conduct detailed inspections of products on the shop floor, ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications. Assist with customer non-conformance management to determine root cause and implement corrective/preventative actions, assisting in production of 8D reports. Assist in customer interaction through meetings, presentations, phone calls, and emails. Highlight and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel or next level of management for prompt resolution. Carry out laboratory test/inspection and report/rectify non-conformance issues. Involved with and conduct internal and external audits/audit systems. Liaise and communicate with other departments. Assist/support the calibration system, ensuring all equipment is correctly calibrated. Actively participate in small improvement initiatives and Kaizen activities to follow up on the effectiveness of corrective action plans. Ensure all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and environmental, are strictly followed, adopting a 'no walk past' approach. Maintain commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts business financials, customer satisfaction, and future orders. Job Description Principal Elements Required attributes: Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, particularly in quality assurance or quality control. Good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Observant and technical minded to resolve technical and mechanical tasks. Thorough and dependable (an eye for specifics and detail). Able to use various measurement equipment/devices (incl: Aesthetic/visual). Using good judgment and be willing to challenge the norms. Handling multiple tasks (multi-tasking/task management) – self starter. Use of Information technology. Experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication and listening skills. Desired attributes: Equipment MSA, GR&R, CPk Studies. Ability to utilise analytical, statistical and reliability tools of lean principles. Trained Internal Auditor would be advantageous. Knowledge of ISO Management Standards and Lean principles. Knowledge of FSC/PEFC. Location Based in Shildon, County Durham. Performance Measures Annual appraisals to be undertaken by the UK Quality Manager. Objectives for the department will be set for the forthcoming year, QC Inspection and Test support is a foundational business need.
