Sphere Solutions are currently looking for a reliable and knowledgeable QS to join one of their clients, an award-winning and very well-established main contractor that primarily works across the West of Wales.

Role Overview: The successful Quantity Surveyor will be working on a prestigious £40 million educational construction project based in Aberystwyth. This exciting project includes the restoration of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, along with the development and modernization of existing structures. The project, once completed, will feature three thematic zones: World of Knowledge, Culture and Community, and Enterprise and Innovation, creating a centre for learning, heritage, culture, and business.

Key Responsibilities: Manage all financial aspects of the project, including cost control, budget forecasting, and contract compliance. Lead the procurement and management of tenders, ensuring adherence to the project's financial targets. Work closely with project managers and contractors to oversee project budgets, resolve issues, and ensure efficient resource allocation. Conduct regular on-site visits to monitor progress and collaborate with stakeholders. Provide detailed cost reports and maintain effective financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, ideally with experience on Commercial build schemes or large-scale projects. Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and industry regulations. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively. Ability to work independently and within a team to meet project deadlines.
