Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs, managing budgets, calculating material needs, mapping out project timelines, and ensuring financial control of construction projects from inception through to completion. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working on new build homes and commercial properties, a solid understanding of construction processes, cost management, and contracts, and will collaborate with project teams to deliver cost-effective and timely results.

To qualify, you will ideally possess a bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience in quantity surveying in the construction industry. You will have knowledge of contract law and standard forms of contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and a strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials. You must have strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g. Microsoft Excel, or specialized quantity surveying/estimating software) and excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail are essential.
