Opportunity We are recruiting a lead surveyor for a main contractor to lead a £7.6m refurbishment of a Waste Recycling Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a key project, managing costs, contracts, and procurement processes for a major client.

This is an immediate requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring the project is delivered within financial parameters. Monitor and control project costs, including managing change orders and identifying potential cost-saving opportunities. Prepare and issue bills of quantities, valuations, and variations. Manage and negotiate subcontractor packages and payments. Administer the JCT form of contract, including ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions. Provide regular cost reporting and financial forecasting to senior management and the client. Liaise with the project team, including site managers, engineers, and clients, ensuring smooth and efficient project delivery. Review and approve invoices and payment applications. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of interim valuations and final accounts. Risk management, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.

Requirements: Proven experience as a Lead Quantity Surveyor, ideally within a main contracting environment. Experience working on refurbishment or infrastructure projects, preferably with knowledge of waste recycling centre projects. Strong understanding of the JCT form of contract and contract administration. Ability to manage large-scale budgets and costs effectively. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildsoft, etc.).
