Our Client (Civil Engineering Support for Infrastructure) About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our client's Commercial team as a Quantity Surveyor (Civils). In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the infrastructure development for 250 new build residential houses undertaken by a prestigious blue-chip property developer. Based in Warrington, this is a fantastic chance to contribute to a high standards and high rewards environment while gaining invaluable experience. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Conduct regular site visits and collaborate with the production team. Prepare and review tenders in conjunction with estimators, ensuring understanding of client requirements for effective value engineering. Provide early cost advice to clients on variations, ensuring authorized variations only. Offer technical advice on drawings and ensure projects have the correct documentation. Manage end-to-end commercial aspects of assigned projects, maximizing value, and collaborating with Finance and Procurement departments. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all commercial accountabilities. Analyze rates & prices, agree on variations and/or compensation events. Identify and analyze potential debt risks, negotiate financial reconciliation with third parties. Forecast monthly and annual profit figures, maintaining figures throughout the project's lifetime. Understand safety principles on sites and projects, supporting the safety Director and safety team. Address safety concerns immediately with the support of the safety team and Directors. Build strong working relationships with clients, including social networking. Allocate work to sub-contractors, assisting with procurement when required. Requirements: Minimum GCSE 7 A-C / 5-9, including math’s and English. Minimum 3 A-Levels at Grade B and above or equivalent BTEC. HNC Level 4 Qualification in Construction/Building or equivalent. Relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering. Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel. Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Demonstrate an extremely high level of confidentiality. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully. Highly motivated and willing to work hard.
