Quantity Surveyor - Civils - Negotiable Salary Your new company One of the UK's leading infrastructure contractors, working across a number of sectors including transport, highways, water, energy, and telecommunications. Your new role Working on the Anglian Water framework in Colchester, they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor. The scheme across the region ensures that customers continue to receive great service with as little interruption as possible while remaining within budget. As the Quantity Surveyor, you'll work with the delivery team, providing support to both the delivery management and on-site delivery teams. Embracing the outperformance mentality, you'll ensure that operations are carried out to control costs, maximising value, minimising future liabilities, and maintaining the required standard. You will be responsible for assisting the programme area Estimating team to ensure robust estimates align to scope and make allowance for risks and opportunities. You will work closely with the Procurement team, Construction team, and Project team in preparing Subcontracts and procurement strategies to ensure they reflect the agreed scope. You will produce accurate live forecasting, considering the programme and reporting in accordance with the respective work breakdown structure / cost breakdown structure. You will be responsible for ensuring actual costs are monitored and assessed. You will provide reports on actual costs vs. estimates and identify underlying reasons for any variance & resolutions, highlighting, challenging, and resolving variance to latest plans. You will ensure that all project team members (including site staff) understand the contractual arrangements to satisfy Client & Partner organisation requirements. You will also ensure that proper records are kept & maintained so financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available. You will need to liaise with the Project team to ensure any contractual notifications required are issued in accordance with the Contract. You will support delivery teams locally and the central commercial function. What you'll need to succeed A degree in Quantity Surveying or HNC / HND in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with specific QS / commercial management experience. What you'll get in return
