Quantity Surveyor – Near Exeter
We are wishing to speak with an inspirational QS to join a growing team. The successful candidate will be working with a forward-looking construction company who specialise in refurbishment projects for major clients in the public and private sectors across the region up to a couple million in value.
Managing the financial position, while maintaining accuracy in reporting the financial position of projects is essential, as is managing the contractual relationships. As the QS, you will provide commercial support to the Commercial Manager and senior management team on multiple projects across the region. This role will be an integral part ensuring projects are procured and delivered within budget.
Responsibilities:
Financial and contractual management of contracts
Reviewing contract terms and conditions with the Commercial Manager
Procurement and management of all suppliers and subcontractors
Submission and agreement of client valuations and final accounts
Ensure variations are reported and costed in a timely manner
Maximising each project’s cash position
Monthly CVR reporting to feed into company accounts
Managing financial risk and opportunity
Assist the Contracts Manager with project reporting
Provide estimating and contracts management support when time permits
Encourage and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients and supply chain
Requirements:
Degree qualified desirable or undertaking
Proven experience of managing schemes up to £2m
Strong written, oral communication skills and negotiation
Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Project
Relevant driving licence
