Senior Quantity Surveyor South of England – fully remote working.

Salary:

£50-£60k per annum plus car allowance, 6% pension, healthcare, life assurance, 25 days holiday.

My client are a leading facilities management and accommodation maintenance business for the UK military and its partners. Who are looking to bolster their commercial team by hiring Quantity Surveyors to work on MOD accommodation maintenance projects across the South of England.

Responsibilities include working closely with client personnel, maintaining effective communication, and ensuring all necessary commercial documentation and reports are completed to high standards. You will liaise with Area Managers, Site Managers, Project Managers, and the Commercial Team, ensuring seamless coordination and adherence to organizational policies, including Equality and Diversity.

From a technical perspective, you will ensure compliance with security and fraud prevention systems and processes while providing cost advice for Core Services and Billable Works. You will adhere to contract procedures, contribute to risk management, and help identify business priorities, building controls and milestones into plans and programs. Supporting sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction and utility consumption goals across the Ministry of Defence estate, is also central to this role.

On the commercial front, you will lead change management in line with FDIS Contract requirements, ensuring timely stakeholder alignment. Responsibilities include managing supplier payments, maintaining commercial control, and monitoring supply chain performance. You will support risk management procedures, prepare cost reports, and ensure Billable Works are priced and managed to deliver value for money.

Candidate You should have substantial commercial experience in construction, property maintenance, or a related field, including cost model development, risk analysis, work proposals, and dispute resolution. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to foster collaborative working environments, are critical.

A qualification at HND/Foundation Degree level in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience is required, alongside expertise in the commercial elements of facilities management or social housing or healthcare refurbishments. Experience working in a social housing environment, familiarity with BS11000 Collaborative Business Relationships, and an understanding of utility consumption reduction are advantageous. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and membership in a professional body further enhance your profile.

Candidate will need to live in the Southern Counties of the UK as there will be requirements to go to sites and offices within Southern England from Southeast London down to Cornwall. Please note the ability to obtain S/C clearance is a must for this role.
