Apple Technical Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of an award-winning Tier 1 Main Contractor operating across Hertfordshire in the Defence, Education, Commercial, Industrial, and Leisure sectors, who are seeking to recruit an experienced and effective Quantity Surveyor to complement their Commercial Management team - the opportunity will be to lead a c£10m project, locally based in Hertfordshire. The opportunity has a clear pathway for progression to Senior Quantity Surveyor level with full support with further professional development and training. Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing daily commercial management functions, including but not limited to measurement & valuations, applications for payment, reconciling accounts, dealing with sub-contract orders and enquiries, through to practical completion of the project. Projects using both JCT and NEC contracts will form a part of the QS role at this business; therefore, it would be advantageous for the successful individual to have experience with one or both forms of contract. Minimum 5 years+ experience (post-graduation) as a QS. Good knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts would be advantageous. Good negotiation skills and previous experience procuring subcontractors. Previous Roles: Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Project QS, Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager, Assistant Commercial Manager, Project Surveyor. Qualifications & Skills:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management/NVQ Level 6 or above, or comparable qualification. Application Process:
