Quantity Surveyor required for a luxury house building contractor Main Duties of the Quantity Surveyor: Cost Estimation & Budgeting
Prepare detailed cost estimates for house building projects, including materials, labor, and other construction costs. Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring the project stays within financial constraints. Prepare and analyse detailed cost reports and forecasts. Tendering & Procurement
Assist in the preparation of tender documents for contractors, suppliers, and sub-contractors. Evaluate bids and tenders, recommending the most suitable contractors or suppliers. Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with subcontractors and suppliers. Contract Management
Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Oversee the measurement and valuation of work in progress, including changes or variations to the contract. Cost Control & Financial Reporting
Monitor the financial progress of construction projects, tracking costs and identifying areas for cost reduction. Report on cost performance and provide regular updates to senior management and clients. Provide detailed cost analysis and reports to support project decision-making. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
Help with the preparation of documents for regulatory inspections and audits. Required Skills & Qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in quantity surveying, particularly within residential construction projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
