Corrie Recruitment are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our client in Inverness on a permanent basis.

The candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously planned and controlled. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial constraints. Conduct regular cost analyses and provide reports on financial performance to project managers. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to assess project requirements and develop accurate cost forecasts. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to construction costs. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.

Experience

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in a similar role within the construction industry is essential. Strong knowledge of cost control practices and methodologies. Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and tools for estimating and budgeting. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if relevant experience can be demonstrated.
