Procuring tender costs from suppliers and contractors. Conducting subcontract tender analysis ensuring rates aligned with the current market and presenting reports to the senior team and project management. Managing site materials, placing orders with suppliers and builder's merchants whilst adhering to budget constraints. Generating and distributing regular cost reports, providing feedback on procurement targets, variations, and forecast final accounts. Ensuring all contractual and subcontract management obligations are met, particularly in procurement, procurement reports, measurements and valuations, contractual instructions, notices, orders. Assisting in expanding the supply chain by sourcing local subcontractors and utilising the existing supply network. Compiling Bills of Quantities / Material take-offs for ongoing projects, collaborating with the delivery team and assisting in material procurement and management on site. Managing subcontractors, including processing valuation applications and issuing relevant notices within prescribed time-frames. Ensuring subcontractor valuations are processed promptly with payment schedules issued to management to ensure accurate cash flow forecasting. Finalising and agreeing on final accounts. Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum of 3 years PQE working as a quantity surveyor in either a subcontracting or main contracting environment. Degree in commercial management or quantity surveying. Experience of the commercial management of JCT & NEC contracts. Commercial awareness and the ability to independently deal with complex projects. Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. The contractor is looking to take someone who is prepared to work office-based but is also prepared to travel to site when needed. Salary is between £45-55k, plus car allowance.
