GBR Recruitment are proudly working exclusively with a well-established construction client who is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, from any construction / built environment background, to come in to develop their block paving side of the business, from the ground up.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to make the paving division their own & to play a key role in the business, working primarily across commercial paving solutions with main contractors, as well as a small % of domestic works too.

This QS role will also move into the Tarmac solutions side of the business, once the block paving division has been developed / fully established to an agreed level, but it will still work on the paving side too.

As the QS you will work on projects valued anywhere from £1K up to multiple £100K's, right up to other major paving projects worth £3M+ in some cases, so the role offers great variety in terms of projects you will work on.

The client completes paving projects across the UK but mostly across Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire, Yorkshire, The Humber, Cambridgeshire & the East Midlands, so as the designated Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be involved in all of these, working from build sites & from the clients HQ.

The client works on some JCT contracts, plus a variety of others handed to them from main contractors / directly from the end using customer.

Duties: Preparing cost estimates, budgets & cash flow forecasts. Conducting tender analysis & preparing contracts. Monitoring project costs & progress, identifying potential project risks or overspends. Conducting site visits & liaising with the site team to ensure work aligns with the budget. Preparing & submitting valuations, variations, CVR & final accounts. Advising on procurement strategies & managing subcontractor accounts. Ensuring compliance with contracts & regulatory requirements.

Attributes / Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry. Strong understanding of different construction methods, materials & regulations. Block paving experience or knowledge would be useful (commercial / domestic). Excellent numerical & analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in using construction-related software & Microsoft Office. Strong communication & negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects & to successfully meet build plan deadlines. A relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.

This role could suit someone that is or has been working as a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Estimator or Commercial Manager with experience in all the above listed QS duties.

The role is commutable from Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, East Riding of Yorkshire / Humber.
