A successful Sidcup-based main contractor working across Greater London & Kent now seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen the existing commercial team. Working on a range of educational, residential, and public sector buildings, projects are typically in the £1 million - £5 million range and can be refurbishment, new build, or extension schemes. With a small experienced team, they continue to grow in a challenging market with multiple new contract awards to bolster existing works. As a result, a new role has been created for an additional QS to oversee several projects.
Your new role As Quantity Surveyor, you will be working in a team of 2 reporting to a Commercial Director. You will oversee 3–4 projects from a commercial standpoint, from pre-construction to completion. Duties include agreeing subcontractor payments & variations, visiting sites to check/measure works, preparing & managing client valuations, creating and presenting monthly CVR reports, identifying & managing commercial risks, and ensuring effective interaction between commercial and ops teams.
What you'll need to succeed You will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with clear experience of working with a small to medium main contractor. You will be comfortable managing your own schemes and dealing with the technical documentation associated with this. You will be fully computer-literate and looking for a long-term career move.
