Experienced Quantity Surveyor with social housing background required for a council contract in Slough. The Quantity Surveyor must have strong working knowledge of Schedule of Rates. This is a 3-month temporary contract paying £300 per day. The Quantity Surveyor will need the following Mandatory Requirements: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a commercial capacity, working in the Social Housing Sector as a principal and/or main contractor across Voids & Repairs Business streams. Experience working with typical pricing agreements & frameworks within a TPC Contract, which includes mandatory knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates. Experience measuring works, generating and agreeing applications. Experience reviewing, validating and approving subcontractor quotations & variations in line with pricing agreements. Experience managing supply chain partners. Experience in financial reporting and data analysis. Strong numeracy and financial management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. IT skills including advanced Excel and Word are essential. Job Overview: Provide support and assistance towards the financial management of the joint venture maintenance contract, ensuring that financial targets are achieved. Provide an effective interface with the clients, partnering management, consultants, and suppliers. Review, validate and approve subcontractor quotations & variations in line with pricing agreements to ensure value for money is achieved. Agree subcontractor valuations and payments. Value/measure work in line with contractual pricing agreements. Identify, build up, generate and agree variations with the client. Application & usage of NHF Schedule of Rates for cost & value. Build up and generate specifications & scope of works. Management of commercial WIP & cost liabilities. Collate, submit, and agree applications/payment with the client including aged debt management. Generate cost & value reporting information. Subcontractor management, including agreeing/negotiating rates, procurement, payment, and systems management. Assist in preparation of monthly CVRs. Attend contractual meetings with stakeholders & produce any specific commercial information required for these meetings. Support identification, preparation, and pricing of new works opportunities/tenders. Interviews will be held ASAP and the role has an immediate start date.
