Quantity Surveyor 50,000 - 60,000 per annum Stevenage gap construction is proud to be representing a well-established main contractor in their search for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor in central Hertfordshire. Projects will vary in nature but include high-profile, complex projects across the commercial, education, industrial, retail, and residential sectors in Hertfordshire and into London. Performance Objectives Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for construction projects. Monitor and manage project costs to ensure they remain within agreed budgets. Conduct detailed cost analysis and prepare variance reports, identifying risks and opportunities. Lead procurement activities, including the preparation of tender documentation and the evaluation of bids. Oversee contract management, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure all projects comply with health and safety regulations, contractual obligations, and company standards. Compile and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, records, and correspondence. Person Specification A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry is essential. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement. Effective time management and organizational abilities to meet project deadlines. A proactive, self-motivated approach with a focus on delivering results. Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment. A thorough understanding of construction processes and contractual law is advantageous.
