Fairmead is partnering with a Design & Build Fit-Out Contractor celebrated for delivering iconic, high-quality projects across the UK. Known for their innovation and commitment to excellence, they are offering an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to not only lead on exciting commercial projects but to grow into a Commercial Director role as part of their structured development plan.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll take ownership of the financial and commercial aspects of projects valued from £500k to £4 million. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career within a dynamic, forward-thinking business where success is rewarded with clear progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage project budgets, forecasting costs, and ensuring profitability. Procure and oversee subcontractor and supplier agreements. Prepare valuations, manage variations, and agree final accounts. Administer JCT contracts, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. Provide detailed financial reporting to senior management. Collaborate with clients, site teams, and project managers to ensure commercial objectives are met. Contribute to business strategies, laying the foundation for progression into a senior leadership role.

About You

We're looking for a commercially astute individual ready to take the next step in their career. This role is ideal for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is eager to develop into a senior position and eventually take on a Commercial Director role.

Key Requirements: Proven experience in Quantity Surveying within the construction industry, ideally in fit-out or design and build. Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and commercial processes. A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (MRICS desirable). Exceptional negotiation and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and detail. A strategic mindset with the ambition to progress into leadership.
