Our client is a respected and growing groundworks contractor with a strong focus on residential projects. They have built a reputation for delivering high-quality groundwork services across various housing developments. Due to ongoing growth and increasing demand, they are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and play a key role in managing the financial aspects of their residential groundworks projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the commercial and financial elements of residential groundworks projects from pre-construction through to completion. Prepare and manage project cost plans, budgets, and forecasts. Measure and value work on-site, including preparing accurate take-offs for groundworks. Prepare tender documentation and assist with the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers. Administer contracts, including processing payments, variations, and claims. Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Provide regular reports on project costs and financial status to senior management and clients. Collaborate with site teams to resolve any commercial issues and ensure effective project delivery. Support in the preparation and submission of final accounts. Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a background in groundworks or civil engineering on residential sites. Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and the ability to manage them effectively. Excellent measurement and cost estimation skills, with a good eye for detail. Experience in preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple projects at once. A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field. Experience using industry-standard software (e.g., CostX, Excel). Why Join Our Client?
