Quantity Surveyor/Senior Estimator (Build & Civils)

About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Senior Estimator with a strong background in both building and civil engineering to join our dynamic and well-established construction company. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality projects across a diverse portfolio of commercial and civil engineering works.

Key Responsibilities: Cost Estimation:

Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for building and civil engineering projects, ensuring value for money and competitive pricing. Tender Preparation:

Manage and deliver tenders, including liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to obtain the necessary pricing and information. Contract Administration:

Review and assess contract documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and contractual terms. Cost Management:

Oversee project costs and budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring financial control throughout the project lifecycle. Project Coordination:

Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure timely delivery of projects within budget and to the highest quality standards. Risk Analysis:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery. Stakeholder Engagement:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to promote collaboration and long-term partnerships. Skills and Experience Required: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on both building and civil engineering projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Experience in preparing tenders, cost plans, and budgets for a wide range of projects. Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with attention to detail. Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office suite. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (e.g., HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent). Membership in a professional body such as RICS or CIOB is desirable but not essential.
