37.5 hours varied between 08:00-17:00 Why might this job interest you? You will be joining our friendly, flexible, and welcoming department that offers a 7-day a week walk-in service for GP patients, Minor Injuries Unit, wards, and outpatient referrals. The post holder will work in the Community Radiology Department and will be mainly based at the Abingdon Hospital Centre assisting the radiographic staff in the smooth running of the department. Cross-site working may be required at Bicester and Witney Hospitals. Main duties of the job

What you can add: Work closely with all staff, particularly radiographers to assist with delivering a high standard of care. Support Radiographers with plain film imaging. Complete daily checks within the department. Assist with ordering, receiving equipment & placing in the store cupboard. What you'll need: Minimum 6 months experience as a Radiology Assistant (UK) (NHS/Private) within the last 2 years or currently studying Radiology (Student Radiologist) and completed a minimum of 12 weeks clinical placements. Good level of numeracy, literacy, and IT skills. NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable. Job responsibilities

Varied between the hours of 08:00-17:00 Job Summary: The post holder will work in the Community Radiology Department and will be mainly based at the Abingdon Hospital Centre assisting the radiographic staff in the smooth running of the department. Cross-site working may be required at Bicester and Witney Hospitals. Key Result Areas

Introduce and welcome patients in the waiting area, confirming their identity according to the Trust Policy. Be comfortable working with a range of different patients. Exercise discretion and maintain patient confidentiality. Maintain the patients' dignity and privacy at all times. Demonstrate good communication skills when dealing with patients, relatives, and members of the Multidisciplinary Team, utilizing sensitivity, empathy, and the ability to manage conflict. Act as a patient's escort taking them to the changing rooms, preparing them for the examination. Assist with patient moving and handling and equipment moving, using correct methods and equipment as required (as per Manual Handling Policy). Undertake Mandatory Training as required by the Trust, to develop and increase skills, to improve the service to the public. Responsible for the accurate booking in of patients at reception, in addition to amending data where appropriate, using the Radiology Information System (RIS), the Electronic Patient Record (EPR), and the IOV ICE orders viewer. Cover staff annual leave/absence which may require cross-site working. Explain to patients the preparatory requirements regarding undressing/dressing and assist the patients when this is necessary. Help to maintain high standards of cleanliness of equipment and accessories, in addition to keeping examination rooms and changing areas clean, tidy, and supplied with linen. Liaise with porters/wards regarding the transit of clients to and from the department. Assist in stock rotation of supplies. Assist with the preparation of the examination rooms. Be aware of and comply with the relevant Ionising Radiation Protection Regulations and Local Rules (IRR 17 and IR(ME)R 17). Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times, working together and supporting other members of the team in a polite and helpful manner. Contribute to the department's Quality Assurance and Audit Programme. Participate in all relevant in-house training. Assist in and supervise training of new Radiology Assistants as required.
