The successful candidate will involve working on a rota, some extended days and weekends. You will support the work of the Radiology Department to assist Radiologists and Radiographers in performing a range of Radiological procedures, including Ultrasound and CT. We have a new state of the art Emergency Department which opened in April 2019 with dedicated DR X Ray rooms, Ultrasound and a CT scanner. The successful applicant will be expected to rotate into this area from the main X-Ray department, US and CT. Main duties of the job To assist in all aspects of patient care within the Radiology department. To assist with housekeeping duties cleaning specialist equipment. To make up slides of biopsy samples for microscopic examination by Histology / Pathology. To work cross-site between Wexham Park hospital in Slough, Heatherwood Hospital Ascot, King Edwards VII in Windsor and St Marks in Maidenhead as and when required. Job responsibilities To maintain privacy and dignity of all patients in the department. To ensure patient care needs are recognised and addressed while in Radiology department reassurance, toilet requirements. To assist patients with undressing and preparation for Radiological examinations. To act as a chaperone for patients as required. To clean radiological equipment as per departmental procedures. To assist patients and staff with specific tests and examinations carried out in the Radiology department. Please see Job Description and Job Specification for further information Skills, Experience & Competencies Essential To be able to care for patients. Ability to work in a Team. Be able to work to strict deadlines in a busy clinical environment. Able to input accurate data on Information Systems. Able to communicate with a wide range of people. To be sympathetic and caring to patient needs. To be able to talk to patients and listen empathetically whilst working in a busy clinical environment. Desirable Previous experience in a similar post or dealing with the public in a caring environment. Qualifications Desirable NVQ in Care or equivalent relevant caring experience.
